She was born March 27, 1918, in Comanche, to Samuel Arthur and Viola (Reynolds) McCutchen and graduated from high school there. She married J.F. McMasters on July 5, 1939, in Norman. Soon afterward, he reported to the Navy in San Diego, Calif. She later joined him and remained there until he returned from World War II, after serving on a mine sweeper.

Ruth was a wonderful wife and homemaker for almost 72 years. Ruth and Joy started their life together in Oklahoma but moved to California in their early years. While in California, she sold Avon in order to help family members. She was a very loving and giving person.

In preparation for retirement, they purchased Ruth's father’s farm west of Comanche, on Highway 53, where they built a new home. When Ruth’s health begin to fail they sold the farm and moved to Duncan. They later moved to Heartland Assisted Living. They spent several years there and finally they moved to Country Club Care.

Ruth and Joy were never blessed with children, but their home was always open to family and the many nieces and nephews who loved them dearly. All will agree that Aunt Ruth was a “favorite” and beautiful aunt, and she will be missed by all.

She was a member of Chisholm Trail Church of Christ.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Joy F. (Mac) McMasters of Country Club Care; her cousins: Brownie Reynolds of Comanche and Mattie Esther Terry of Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Ethel Greer, Jewel Coffman, Vinita Allen and Vera Jobe.
