Jennifer Lisman Bunich, 36, of Charlotte, North Carolina died at Carolinas Medical Center on February 4, 2008 after a brief illness. She is the daughter of Don and Marilyn Lisman of Charlotte, NC, and the granddaughter of Arad and Virginia McCutchan of Evansville, Indiana and Boyd and Martha Lisman of Monroe City. She and her husband, Boris Bunich, were married in 2004 and have a two-year-old daughter, Claire.

Jennifer’s warmth, vitality, and selflessness created a wide circle of friends who, with her extended family, loved and admired her. She used her professional skills as a photographer, writer, and organizer to document the lives of her family and friends in pictures and videos. Recently as “Jen B” she and a long-time friend, “Jen P,” created a popular internet blog (www.charlottesmartypants.com) recounting their experiences as wives and mothers of young children and sharing advice and support. Jen P notes in her February 4th tribute to Jen B that “she was such a historian – documenting…details of her life with photos and scrapbooks.” Many other tributes which were posted by the readers following her death show that growing influence of this blog in their lives, for example: “Several of us who read the (web) site felt that we got to know her…(and could sense) her integrity, drive, brilliance, and passion for her dghter.”

She is survived by her husband, daughter, parents; her two brothers, Scott Lisman, his wife, Nicole, and their son, John Allen of Houston, TX, and Brad Lisman and his financee, Allison Simpson of Dallas, TX; her maternal uncle, Allen McCutchan and his wife Emily of San Diego; her maternal aunt, Jeanne Van Voorst and her husband, Conrad, of Rochester, NY; her first cousins Dianne McCutchan of Santa Barbara, CA and Melanie McCutchan of (San Diego, CA, Corey Van Voorst of Rochester, NY, Mrs. Royce (Deanna) Baker of Washington, IN, Hope Barnett, Mrs. Dene (Lana) Bartley, and Jackie King, all of Petersburg, IN; her parents-in-law, Gregory and Raisa Bunich, and her brother-in-law, Alex Bunich, his wife, Marie, and their daughter, Isabella, all of Charlotte.
