A. J. 'Mac' McCutcheon, 90, of Austin TX passed away on March 20, 2008. He has been an Austin resident since 1938, moving here from Oklahoma. A. J. was the owner of Mac's Automotive in Austin, TX until his retirement. He was a 60 year member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge in Austin. During WW II he worked for the Civil Service on the Nordon Bombsight, which made him ineligible to serve in the Armed Forces.
Mac was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Marie, son, Andrew J., and grandson James Randall McCutcheon. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Grace Tidwell, Jewell Galbraith, and Hazel Massey and by brothers Gilbert, Howard, and Rueben McCutcheon.
Mac is survived by sons, James Madison McCutcheon and Donna Tatsch of Austin and by Kelley McCutcheon and wife Sarah of Austin; sister, Irene Yeary of Austin; and sisters-in-law, Eunice McCutcheon of Durant, Oklahoma and Georgia Kelley of Houston as well as six grandchildren. A graveside funeral service was held at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Texas.
Mac enjoyed his chosen vocation and all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and a good baseball game. He was a strong man with good character and will be greatly missed.
